Alopecia Areata is an immune disorder that is common in people of all ages especially in teenagers.Immune system is equipped with powerful tools to fight against the microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites. Alopecia Areata develops when the immune system present in our bodies goes awry and attacks the body itself.
Alopecia Areata is a smooth patchy kind of hair loss. It usually appears as a smooth bald patch near the edges and spreads out on other areas of the scalp. The causes of this kind of baldness are not yet fully determined. Dermatologists believe that it develops when white blood cells suppress the hair follicles. Hair follicles are the openings present on the surface of the skin through which hair grows. When Alopecia Areata attacks, it suppresses the hair follicles to grow. Alopecia Areata is unpredictable and most often is diagnosed by examining the scalp. A skin biopsy is another option to diagnose Alopecia Areata. In skin biopsy a small part of the affected skin is obtained and studied under microscope. A slight indentation in nails can also be formed due to this disease. Treatment depends on different stages of the disease. The victims of Alopecia who are at early stage can use 101D and those who are in middle or later stages should use 101F. 101G is the most effective treatment for those patients who have oily scalp and suffering from Alopecia. It is recommended that treatment should be carried out for a year to experience hair re-growth. |
