Moisture and sun during summers greatly affect the health of your hair. In order to protect your hair from damages caused during summer take following preventative steps:
Cover your hair with a scarf, hat or cap whenever you go out during the day to protect it from the sun. But do not wear them tightly as they may restrict blood circulation in your scalp.
Limit the use of hot items on your hair such as a blow dryers and curling irons.
Don’t wash your hair with hot water. Use warm or cool water.
Keep yourself hydrated by drinking as much water as possible.
Don’t use hair products that contain alcohol as they may dry out your hair.
Do not over wash your hair in summers as this strips the moisture out of your hair.
Do apply a conditioner on your hair daily.
Trim your hair after every 1-2 month to stimulate the growth process.
Avoid making tight hairstyles such as braids.
To protect your hair from the side effects of chlorine use a clarifying shampoo after swimming.
