The term hair loss disease refers to diseases what induce or cause hair loss. There are a wide range of hair loss diseases including thyroid disorder, congenital disorders, diabetes, lupus, autoimmune disorder etc. These diseases directly or indirectly cause hair loss.

Auto immune disorder is a disorder in which your body’s own immune system damages body’s own cells and tissues. When autoimmune disorder damages your hair follicles, you begin to notice hair thinning that may ultimately lead to baldness (alopecia areata  or alopecia universalis).

Thyroid Disorder is another hair loss culprit. Thyroid hormones controls the growth of your body. Any fluctuation in thyroid hormones affects overall functions of your body including hair loss. For healthy and normal hair growth, there should be optimum amount of testosterone and progesterone in your body.

Diabetes is a hormone related term that affects the normal growth of your body. Diabetes refers to improper digestion of carbohydrates that lead to malfunction and improper body growth. Healthy blood carries lots of nutrients, in case of diabetes your hair follicles get deprived of vitamins and nutrients.

Certain infectious diseases may also cause hair loss. Fungal infection commonly occurs in children that leads to severe hair loss in scalp. It is caused due to severe infection of fungi that greatly damage hair follicles. When you notice any sort of infection in your scalp, get it diagnosed with a qualified dermatologist.
